Delivery Material Handler

Gulfeagle Supply is a family-owned business that serves as a full-line distributor of residential and commercial roofing and building products. Responsibilities
- Delivery: Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily. Verify the quantities of materials for accuracy. Assist the driver in locating the job site, spotting the driver when backing up into a job site, directing the driver in placing the conveyor, and unloading or assisting in unloading materials by using forklift, crane, conveyor, and/or by hand.
- Roof Top: Climb up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof. Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.
- Equipment: Ensure the truck is properly equipped for delivery, including filling coolers, strapping materials, loading ladders, and other tasks as needed.
- OSHA: Comply with OSHA regulations related to oneself and the company.
- Inventory: Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
- Maintenance: Maintain the warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper and presentable condition. Perform minor repairs as needed.
- Safety: Handle materials safely, including wearing protective gear such as back braces, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate. Ensure safe operation of vehicles as it relates to both the customer's and Gulfeagle's property.
- Customer Service: Aide customers with materials, report delivery and service issues, and handle other customer-related matters.
Qualifications
- Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
- Knowledge of roofing materials and/or construction and distribution.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds of material continuously for up to two hours at a time.
- Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights.
- Attention to detail to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
- Able to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
- Able to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to handle all job functions in a safe manner.
- Pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.
Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
