Job Description
The Delivery Manager for Reliance EMS holds end-to-end responsibility for the software delivery lifecycle of Energy Management System projects. This role ensures the successful deployment of grid-critical EMS solutions, focusing on technical execution, system stability, and seamless integration into the customer's control room environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain end-to-end responsibility for the software delivery phase of EMS projects, ensuring strict adherence to schedule, cost, and quality benchmarks essential for grid operations.
- Cook up complex integration workflows between the Reliance EMS platform, SCADA systems, field RTUs, and external market/dispatch interfaces.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between the Reliance EMS product development/R&D teams and the project delivery teams to ensure customer-specific needs inform product evolution.
- Lead technical and milestone reviews, specifically focusing on EMS-specific Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) readiness for mission-critical operations.
- Monitor and report EMS-specific delivery metrics, including system performance benchmarking, point-to-point integration status, and configuration-to-standard (CTS) ratios.
- Proactively manage scope changes during EMS implementation, balancing customer-specific customizations against core platform capabilities to ensure long-term supportability.
- Manage the "go-live" handover, ensuring a robust transition from the project team to the Maintenance & Support organization, including comprehensive training on EMS operations.
Technical Know-How Requirements
- EMS Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of real-time grid applications (Load Flow, State Estimation, Automatic Generation Control, Network Analysis).
- Architecture Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of the Reliance EMS platform architecture, including real-time data modeling, high-availability environments, and database management.
- Process Excellence: Strength in implementing QA frameworks specifically designed for high-availability, mission-critical energy software.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strategic Change Management: Proven ability to manage the technical migration of complex EMS legacy systems to the modern Reliance platform within traditional utility environments.
- Stakeholder Influence: Ability to translate technical EMS constraints into business-relevant discussions with utility stakeholders, ensuring alignment between software capability and operational requirements.
Educational Requirements
- Essential: Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
- Desirable: Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) or professional certification related to Energy Management Systems and Grid Automation.
Experience Requirements
- Total Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software delivery organizations.
- Relevant Domain Experience: At least 5 years specifically in the implementation, integration, or delivery of Energy Management Systems (EMS) or SCADA solutions for transmission and distribution utilities.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams in multi-site project environments.
- Direct experience managing large-scale software deployment lifecycles, including complex FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) phases within a critical infrastructure environment.
- Experience in a matrix organization: Demonstrated ability to drive project outcomes within a matrix reporting structure, coordinating between global R&D, product factories, and regional operations.
