Delivery Driver

About The Role

Our Lonsdale operations team is looking for a dependable Cylinder Delivery Driver. You will be responsible for the delivery and collection of gas cylinders to commercial and residential customers in multiple suburbs throughout the metro and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that involves frequent manual handling of gas cylinders, so ideal for someone who enjoys staying on their feet!

Responsibilities

• Load and deliver bulk cylinder and individual cylinder products.
• Be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are always kept in a roadworthy and clean condition, with daily walkaround checks, pre-start checks and reporting any defects or symptoms of defects - vehicles driven will range from 8-12 tonne rigid trucks.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and activity (consignment notes, etc) and meet electronic requirements - including using handheld scanner technology to log deliveries and monitor stock.
• Prioritize safety at every level, with a high level of safety exerted in road and traffic safety and patience.
• Report any hazards, safety concerns, near misses and accidents and incidents.
• Be able to keep track of time and be efficient as possible.
• Provide good service to your customers when delivering product.

Requirements

• You possess: Valid MR licence and/or HR licence.
• A current Forklift Operators Licence is desirable but not essential.
• A sense of independence and problem solve when on your own.
• A commitment to preventing and managing your own fatigue.
• Some mechanical knowledge that can be extremely helpful when on the road - how to take care of minor maintenance issues.
• A capacity to work variable hours and occasional weekends.

Skills and Experiences
