Reporting to the Driver Supervisor, the Delivery Driver is a motivated and detail-oriented individual who wants to be a part of our dynamic team.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Delivery of Auto Parts: Safely and efficiently operate a Sprinter van to deliver aftermarket collision auto parts to customers' specified locations.
- Follow delivery routes to optimize efficiency and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Handle and load auto parts with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of delivered items against the invoice and report any discrepancies.
- Payment Collection: Collect payments from customers upon delivery, following company guidelines and protocols.
- Handle cash and checks securely.
- Report any payment issues or discrepancies to the appropriate department.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, maintaining a positive image for the company.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding deliveries and payments, or escalate issues as needed.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fueling, cleaning, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to traffic laws while driving.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of delivery routes, payment transactions, and mileage.
- Submit delivery and payment reports to the appropriate department as required.
- Vehicle Safety: Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the delivery vehicle.
- Use seatbelts and ensure that the vehicle's safety features are functional.
- Maintain a safe following distance and adjust driving speed according to road and weather conditions.
- Avoid distracted driving, such as texting or using a mobile phone, while on the road.
- Perform regular vehicle safety checks and report any issues immediately.
- Loading and Unloading Safety: Safely load and unload auto parts, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Secure items within the delivery vehicle to prevent shifting during transit.
- Use safety equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, as appropriate.
Required Skills/Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with using technology such as GPS navigation and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy automotive parts, often weighing up to 60 pounds. Safely load and unload items from the delivery vehicle, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, especially during the loading and unloading of items.
- Driving: Ability to sit and drive for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions and traffic situations.
- Bending and Stooping: Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch while handling auto parts or performing maintenance tasks on the delivery vehicle.
- Fine Motor Skills: Proficiency in handling and counting cash, checks, and receipts accurately.
- Repetitive Motion: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as collecting payments and filling out delivery documentation.
- Vision: Adequate vision to read maps, GPS devices, and complete paperwork accurately. Ability to see and react to road signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles while driving.
- Hearing: Sufficient hearing to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and other road users. Ability to hear sirens, horns, and other auditory cues while driving.
- Balance and Coordination: Maintain balance and coordination while moving around the delivery vehicle and when loading and unloading items.
- Overall Physical Health: Good overall physical health to meet the demands of the job, including sitting for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to follow safety protocols, recognize potential hazards, and respond appropriately to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
