Delivery Driver

About the role

Transports materials over designated routes, ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provides excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders. Ensures that material loaded on the truck matches the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unloads materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying accuracy based on the Ship Ticket.

Performs daily detailed inspection of the vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining an orderly warehouse.

This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test screening for amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and SAMHSA cutoff levels. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation does not recognize 'medical marijuana' as a valid explanation for a positive THC test.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles safely over designated routes.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service during deliveries.
• Verify and secure materials for transport based on Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest.
• Unload materials at customer locations and confirm accuracy.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections for maintenance and safety.
• Manage warehouse functions: receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for delivery.
• Maintain awareness of and adherence to customer safety protocols.
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain a constant state of awareness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficiency with Android or iOS operating systems.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence with a minimum of three (3) years of driving history.
• Satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) with:
  • No Type A violation within the past seven years.
  • No speeding violation of 15+ mph over the limit within the past three years.
  • No more than one (1) Type B violation within the past three years.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or greater within the last 36 months.
• Strong skills in reading, writing, basic calculations, data entry, reasoning, and analysis.
• Ability to work independently while managing tasks accurately and with attention to detail in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must meet physical qualifications to operate a motor vehicle per FMCSA Section 391.41.
• Exposure to various weather conditions and environmental factors during customer site visits.
• Adherence to customer safety protocols; occasional exposure to hazards such as loud noise or moving machinery.
• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Handling and lifting objects up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
