Delivery Driver

About the role

Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes and ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck matches the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying accuracy based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspections of the vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety.

Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining a safe and orderly warehouse environment. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant awareness and safe work practices.

Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test screening for substances including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Responsibilities

• Verify that loaded materials match the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and secure them for transport.
• Unload materials at delivery locations and confirm accuracy against the Ship Ticket.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and maintenance.
• Manage warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for delivery.
• Maintain a safe and orderly warehouse environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License in state of residence with 3 years of driving history.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation or no more than one type B violation in the past 3 years.
• Minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the past 36 months, operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input data accurately, reason, and analyze.
• Ability to function independently, completing tasks with close attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving in all types of weather conditions.
• Adherence to safety regulations due to occasional exposure to excessive noise and moving machinery.
• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds.
• Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41.
• A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam conducted by a licensed medical examiner is required.

The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test result.
