Job Summary

The Front of House Deli Steward trains Deli staff for all Front of House Deli programs. This role works closely with the Deli Leadership team to maintain current best-practice information and implement provided training guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a knowledge guide for new and current staff, providing training, information, and tools for success through provided, pre-determined materials and collaboration with the Deli Leadership team
  • Maintain expertise in all Front of House Deli practices and procedures, including customer service standards, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety
  • Model a high level of skill around customer service and work responsibilities
  • Coach and provide feedback to current staff, including in the moment training to provide ongoing improvement in team member proficiencies
  • Share updates about individual training results and performance with members of Deli Leadership team
  • Follow all training outlines provided, including sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Provide feedback to Deli Leadership and Deli Operations as requested around the training tools themselves, including opportunities for improvement
  • Other tasks as assigned that fall within Deli Clerk job responsibilities

Qualifications and Skills

  • Successful experience training, coaching, sharing skills and assessing proficiency in a food service / retail atmosphere
  • Experience training in a collaborative environment, including utilizing guides and pre-determined content as tools for knowledge sharing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong time management and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all relevant front of house Deli department practices or equivalent external experience
  • Open availability to accommodate flexible scheduling needs for training including mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends
  • A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
