Job Purpose

The Houseperson at The Farnam, Autograph Collection in Omaha, NE, is responsible for providing cleaning services in designated areas of the hotel, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and responds to special requests.
• Responds to guest concerns, complaints or suggestions appropriately, referring them to management to provide superior guest service.
• May gather waste and/or contaminated materials for disposal.
• Services guestrooms, hallways, lobby, stairwells and offices as assigned.
• Maintains privacy and security by properly announcing entry and servicing guestrooms as appropriate.
• Uses and maintains assigned equipment and supplies to departmental specifications, including vacuums, chemicals and cleaning aides.
• Maintains common areas, including floor closets, stairwells, halls, lobby areas and elevators.
• Keeps a daily log, accounting for completed tasks, tracking issued keys and reviewing the communications log and file on a routine basis.
• Handles lost and found items in accordance with department policies and security procedures.
• Reports to immediate supervisor promptly and fully about all problems or matters of significance.

Skills

• Work experience as a Room Attendant or Houseman/Houseperson.
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products.
• Good physical health and stamina.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
• Able to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• High school diploma is a plus.
