Starting hourly rate: $15.75 USD per hour.

About the role

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They lead food and food services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes.

This role can provide you with skills and experiences in:

• Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture in food
• Monitoring sales of products and adjusting production to drive efficiency, profitability, and minimize waste
• Preparing quality products in the Deli and understanding seasonal food trends
• Using industry-leading equipment (Combi Oven, Deli Slicers, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by:
  • Greeting guests from 10 feet away (smile, make eye contact, or wave)
  • Initiating a warm, helpful interaction at 4 feet
  • Helping guests find what they need or resolving issues
  • Ending every transaction with a sincere thank you
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an inspiring experience
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience, prioritizing guest needs
• Engage with guests to capture and fulfill customized Deli orders
• Execute food and beverage processes, including:
  • Food deliveries and replenishment
  • Straightening merchandise and instocks routines
  • Data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing reserve product
• Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage Standards
• Produce, package, and label items to specifications on production cards
• Follow food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to Target’s policies
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales
• Follow perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory
• Use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines
• Maintain a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work safely at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU)
• Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
• Ability to communicate using frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology
• Work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
• Capability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks within timeframes
• Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
• Interpret instructions, reports, and information
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb up and down ladders if needed
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times)
• Work in environments with refrigeration, freezer temperatures, and common allergens
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts
