The Food & Beverage team ensures product freshness, availability, and accurate pricing. They lead food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes.

The Role of a Deli Production Expert

Can provide you with skills and experiences such as:

• Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture in food
• Monitoring sales and adjusting production for efficiency, profitability, and minimizing waste
• Preparing quality products in the Deli and understanding seasonal food trends
• Using industry-leading equipment (Combi Oven, Deli Slicers, etc.)

No two days are ever the same, but a typical day will likely include:

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments like greeting guests, helping them find what they need, resolving issues, and thanking them
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
• Engage with guests to capture and fulfill their customized Deli orders
• Execute food and beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing and storing reserve product
• Uphold and maintain the execution of Food & Beverage Standards
• Produce, package, and label items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines to drive sales, instocks, and profitability
• Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to Target's policies and procedures
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales
• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory
• Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU)

• You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times)

Required Skills

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and follow multi-step process
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
