Deli Department Manager

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Buying and GM teams regarding merchandising, new product implementation and appropriate pricing.
• Promptly follows through with directions.
• Develops and mentors the Assistant Department Mgr to prepare them to take on the job responsibilities of Department Manager (where applicable).
• Schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations based on the needs of the business and upcoming store events.
• Communicates regularly with scan department to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
• Devises game plans and plan-o-grams for merchandising of the department in conjunction with the Buying team.
• Ensures correct pricing by communicating with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams.
• Oversees the ordering of departmental supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
• Performs departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Trains team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge and job duties.

Requirements

• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently exposed to cold temperatures while working in or around the coolers.

$22.00 an hour

Schedule

Full time position requiring flexible day, evening and weekend availability.
