About the role

We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service. At Festival Foods, we’re all about making mealtime easier and more enjoyable for our guests.

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing excellent guest service, including a friendly greeting, answering questions, and addressing guest concerns
• Helping guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answering the Deli Department telephone
• Receiving, preparing, and fulfilling guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality
• Addressing guest concerns and resolving issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience
• Inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all deli products on display to ensure high standards
• Maintaining proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more
• Leading by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards
• Ensuring all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily
• Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
• Supporting the team with other duties as assigned

• Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers
• Food Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Full range of upper body motion. Ability to work at a fast pace. May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Schedule

The Deli Clerk is a position with a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
