About the role

This role supports a Government agency within the homeland security enterprise, offering opportunities to expand support to other national security-related organizations. Specific initiatives and work products include:

  • Supporting internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) in line with OMB Circular A-123.
  • Developing and executing corrective action plans and broader remediation strategies.
  • Providing audit and audit risk management support.
  • Assessing the impact of new guidance on financial operations.
  • Applying analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Documenting and evaluating business processes.
  • Producing various communications and research documents.
  • Conducting research and collaborating with teams to develop solutions.
  • Assisting clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks.
  • Supporting clients in data collection, model creation, and conclusion drawing.
  • Helping to develop and improve policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role supports important business growth activities, strengthens internal operations, and creates a positive work environment for all Guidehouse employees. These activities include:

  • Aiding in business development activities, such as identifying client needs, proposal development, and client meetings.
  • Participating in coaching and mentoring programs.
  • Developing learning and development materials.
  • Assisting in recruiting top talent.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST" clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of financial experience.
  • Heightened attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Interest in a career in Government/Federal/Defense and National Security consulting.
  • Ability to work in teams and produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to utilize project management best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge and success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting related federal guidance.
  • Experience with federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • GAAP accounting expertise and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and USSGL.
  • Certification(s): CPA, CGFM, PMP.
  • Experience with Federal financial management activities, including federal accounting, budget, financial statement audits, and financial risk management.

Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with Federal financial management activities.
  • Proven success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting related federal guidance.
  • Experience with federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • GAAP accounting expertise and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and USSGL.
  • Certification(s): CPA, CGFM, PMP.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is typically full-time, with up to 10% travel required.
