About the role
This role supports a Government agency within the homeland security enterprise, offering opportunities to expand support to other national security-related organizations. Specific initiatives and work products include:
- Supporting internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) in line with OMB Circular A-123.
- Developing and executing corrective action plans and broader remediation strategies.
- Providing audit and audit risk management support.
- Assessing the impact of new guidance on financial operations.
- Applying analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Documenting and evaluating business processes.
- Producing various communications and research documents.
- Conducting research and collaborating with teams to develop solutions.
- Assisting clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks.
- Supporting clients in data collection, model creation, and conclusion drawing.
- Helping to develop and improve policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role supports important business growth activities, strengthens internal operations, and creates a positive work environment for all Guidehouse employees. These activities include:
- Aiding in business development activities, such as identifying client needs, proposal development, and client meetings.
- Participating in coaching and mentoring programs.
- Developing learning and development materials.
- Assisting in recruiting top talent.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST" clearance.
- Must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of financial experience.
- Heightened attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills.
- Interest in a career in Government/Federal/Defense and National Security consulting.
- Ability to work in teams and produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to utilize project management best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge and success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting related federal guidance.
- Experience with federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and internal controls over financial reporting.
- GAAP accounting expertise and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and USSGL.
- Certification(s): CPA, CGFM, PMP.
- Experience with Federal financial management activities, including federal accounting, budget, financial statement audits, and financial risk management.
Skills
- Knowledge of and experience with Federal financial management activities.
- Proven success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting related federal guidance.
- Experience with federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and internal controls over financial reporting.
- GAAP accounting expertise and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and USSGL.
- Certification(s): CPA, CGFM, PMP.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is typically full-time, with up to 10% travel required.
