Defense Capture Manager, Lead
About the role
The Defense Capture Manager, Lead role supports and leads capture efforts within the defense market, driving the full lifecycle of opportunity pursuit from identification through award. Key responsibilities include developing winning strategies, shaping customer requirements, and ensuring alignment with customer priorities and competitive dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Develop capture artifacts such as capture plans, call plans, competitor analysis, and preliminary win strategies.
- Support customer engagement efforts, including shaping outreach, gathering customer insights, and participating in customer meetings alongside account leadership.
- Develop win themes, discriminators, and teaming strategies.
- Partner with solution architects and SMEs to translate customer needs into viable technical and management approaches.
- Support the development of pricing strategies with guidance from pricing and finance teams.
- Coordinate and lead gate reviews, status briefings, action tracking, and documentation needed throughout the capture lifecycle.
- Facilitate the transition from capture to proposal, ensuring alignment with win strategy and customer priorities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of capture processes, tools, and best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in capture management or business development within the defense or national security domain.
- Experience with DoD acquisition processes, customer missions, and the federal procurement environment, including FAR and DFARS.
- Experience supporting or contributing to successful proposals or capture efforts.
- Experience preparing capture materials or customer engagement documents.
- Ability to analyze customer data, competitor information, and market trends.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits and thrive in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Our work model is designed to support collaboration and engagement, whether in person or virtually. Employees working remotely are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings. The work model for this position is remote.
