About the role
Team Drivers at XPO operate sleeper-tractor teams on extended runs, working collaboratively to transport freight across long distances.
Requirements
- Be a member of an existing team (both members must apply to this position)
- Able to partner with another driver in a sleeper tractor on extended runs
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
- Safe driving record and history
- Valid DOT Medical Certification Card or ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical
- Available to work away from home in a five-day work week
- Possess hazardous materials, tank vehicle, and doubles/triples endorsements
- Able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Team driving or over-the-road experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and team members
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Run loads between XPO facilities for pickup and drop-off, collaborating with fellow XPO employees
- Navigate various routes while maintaining CMV safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations over long distances in a typical 5-day work week away from home
- Operate the vehicle safely within DOT regulations
- Use internal freight transportation tools and required systems
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.)
- Safely climb in/out of tractor cab/trailer
- Sit for extended periods in a truck tractor
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel
- Operate a tractor-trailer for up to 11 consecutive hours in all weather conditions while safely transporting freight
- Properly operate a handheld device
Pay
- Mileage pay: $0.974 per mile, split between each driver ($0.487 per mile) for all tasks related to load completion
- Hourly pay: $35.42 for en route waiting times exceeding one hour due to traffic, construction, or weather delays
- Hourly pay for 6 holidays
- Reimbursement for on-the-road showers

Schedule
Typical schedule is 5 days on, 2 days off.
