About the role
Team Drivers at XPO are responsible for running loads between XPO facilities for pickup and drop-off, working with fellow XPO employees, navigating various routes, maintaining CMV safety, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Run loads between XPO facilities for pickup and drop-off
- Work with fellow XPO employees
- Navigate various routes
- Maintain CMV safety
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations
- Operate various tractor-trailer combinations over long distances in a typical 5-day work week away from home
- Operate the vehicle safely within DOT regulations
- Operate all internal freight transportation work tools and required systems
Requirements
- Be a member of an existing team
- Able to partner with another driver in a sleeper tractor on extended runs
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
- Safe driving record and history
- Valid DOT Medical Certification Card or pass a company-paid DOT physical
- Available to work away from home in a five-day work week
- Possess hazardous materials, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements
Preferred qualifications
- Team driving or over-the-road experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and team members
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong teamwork and cooperation
Pay, benefits and more
- Weekly pay
- Mileage pay of $0.974 per mile, split between each driver ($0.487 per mile) for all tasks related to the completion of the load
- Hourly pay of $35.42 for en route waiting times of more than an hour due to traffic, construction or weather-related delays
