Deburr Technician

The Springfield facility, a 100,000+ sq. ft. center of excellence with 70+ employees, specializes in manufacturing medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components. This role supports critical machining operations for major commercial aircraft programs (Boeing 777, Embraer E-2) and military programs (F-18, F-35, C-17, C-130), with a focus on advanced machining automation and techniques.

About the role

As a Deburr Operator, you will polish contoured metal surfaces to remove flashing, sharp edges, and polish forgings for landing gear and other aerospace components.

Responsibilities

• Utilize work instructions or blueprints for each part.
• Select necessary tools such as handheld grinders, abrasive tools, gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Remove burrs and smooth surfaces of metal parts to specifications, holding tolerances of +/- 0.0001".
• Use quality gauges and micrometers to ensure quality and tolerance requirements are met.
• Document work accurately in accordance with AS9100 and NADCAP protocols.
• Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing sketches.
• Knowledge of decimals and fractions to calculate and record dimensions.
• Ability to read inspection tools such as gauges and micrometers.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on precision.
• Must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.
