Position Description

At United Schools, the Dean of Family and Community Engagement (DFCE) position is integral in building the visibility of the school in the community and creating a sense of community amongst families at the school. The DFCE works collaboratively to enroll/retain students, supports families with resources and programming (in-house through the family resource center or external organizations), and ultimately facilitates the transition of students to their next school program. Additionally, the DFCE supports attendance reporting and improvement efforts, as well as student readiness for middle or high school. Lastly, the DFCE creates experiences like family nights and extracurricular opportunities that provide a well-rounded school experience.

Qualifications

  • Holds a B.A./B.S. degree (required); advanced degree preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Committed to using data-driven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes
  • Relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments
  • Open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members
  • Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Comfortable with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities

Terms of Employment

  • Although this position will begin July 1, 2026, applications will be considered immediately
  • This is a full-time position. Report times are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., although some job-related tasks can be expected outside of these hours

Pay

The starting salary for a new Dean of Family & Community Engagement with a Bachelor’s degree is $55,000. The starting salary for other applicants will depend on professional experience and education level
