About the role

The AZ State School for the Deaf and Blind is seeking individuals who can contribute to its mission of providing educational services to students who are deaf or blind.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the needs of deaf and blind students.
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in special education and assistive technology.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching license in Special Education.
  • Experience working with deaf and/or blind students preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Benefits

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time position with flexible work schedule to accommodate student needs.
