About the Role

E-Therapy is hiring an Onsite Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Woodland, CA, for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time position (7 hours/day) serving K-12 students. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, collaborating with school staff and families to ensure academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and educational best practices.
  • Utilize and integrate assistive technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems, into instruction to support students' learning.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment.
  • Provide support and training to school staff and families on effective communication strategies and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and progress, and participate in IEP meetings to develop and review educational goals.
  • Stay informed about advancements in assistive technology and educational methodologies for students with hearing impairments.
  • Advocate for students' needs and ensure adherence to federal, state, and district policies related to special education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other forms of manual communication.
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and auditory-visual teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telepractice or online instruction.
  • Experience working with students with additional disabilities or needs.

Compensation

Starting at $62/hour.

Woodland, CA and surrounding areas – Onsite Only.
