About the Role

The DCS Specialist must manage and maintain CF Louisiana Region’s Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Responsibilities include configuring DCS to enhance plant operation stability, production, efficiency, and new installations; monitoring and tuning DCS for peak performance; maintaining software inventory and licensing documentation; and coordinating activities with other DCS Specialists. The role also involves preparing and implementing training on new and existing systems, submitting budget requests, and installing software and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Configure DCS as required to enhance plant operation stability, production, efficiency, and/or new installations.
• Monitor and tune DCS for peak performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve DCS problems.
• Manage equipment and software life cycles.
• Follow established Cyber Security policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform regular server patching and maintenance.
• Coordinate DCS maintenance with CF technicians or outside support.
• Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of all DCS and periphery.
• Follow all safety rules and keep work areas clean.
• Work outside the normal schedule, including call outs on nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as travel.
• Understand and comply with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts.
• Identify and report internal controls deficiencies to department management.

Requirements

• Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain and possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
• Ability to prove drug and alcohol-free status at random or for cause.
• P3 level E & I proficiency or comparable with 3 years of experience, or 4Q operator qualification or comparable with 3 years of experience, or technical education in a field related to DCS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with maintenance and operations personnel in a team environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, and climbing (ladders and stairs).
• Microsoft Office software knowledge.
• Basic understanding of networking and cyber security.
