DC Tech Level 2

About the role

Resources will assist client with rack, stack and installation of key data center equipment. They will help troubleshoot common issues, work through various tickets, and act as a level 1 administrator for any data center issues. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly/disassembly, installing heavy GPU trays into systems, building up prototype open board systems on the benchtop, and debugging issues reported by users. The role involves triaging and debugging systems to ensure they pass baseline diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Rack, stack, and install data center equipment
• Troubleshoot common data center issues and work through tickets
• Act as a level 1 administrator for data center issues
• Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of hardware
• Install heavy GPU trays into systems
• Build and debug prototype open board systems on the benchtop
• Triage and debug systems to pass baseline diagnostics
• Support UNIX (Ubuntu or RedHat) administration tasks, including monitoring for disk failures and debugging systems

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of on-prem large-scale data center experience supporting data center equipment and/or infrastructure (Power, Space, Cooling, Equipment)
• Strong data center experience with rack and stack
• Strong cabling skills, including cable management and dressing
• Network troubleshooting experience, ideally with Supermicro Servers, Infiniband Fabric, Mellanox, and Arista Hardware
• Strong attention to detail and independent, out-of-the-box thinking
• Solid UNIX (Ubuntu or RedHat) administration skills, including logging into servers to monitor for disk failures and debug systems
• Break-fix server expertise, including mechanical assembly/disassembly, installing GPU trays, changing system configurations, and building prototypes
