DC Team Member II - 2nd Shift
About the role
The DC Team Member II is responsible for determining daily work schedules via work board instructions and receiving directions from Lead Team Member and Supervisor. Key duties include filling and completing customer orders, combining orders with the same ship identification numbers, performing 6S activities, and assisting DC Team Member I as needed. This role requires proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) via desktop or RF gun, troubleshooting system transactions, and operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, and ride-on pallet jacks.
Responsibilities
- Daily Schedule: Perform tasks as identified by the work board and directions from Lead Team Member and Supervisor. Work overtime as scheduled.
- Equipment:
- Inspect equipment and complete proper documentation before operation; report defects or damage immediately.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, including:
- Order picker
- Pallet Jack (Short and Long)
- Counterbalance (Stand Up and Sit Down)
- Picking and Packing:
- Pick inventory and place in containers; transport to packing lanes and verify quantities using scanner instructions.
- Move products into final shipping containers, label them, and confirm into Viad@t.
- Transport orders to designated shipping areas, ensuring accuracy and efficiency per company guidelines.
- Scan and pick coils and fittings using an order picker according to customer orders.
- Pick and label straight lengths; transport to shipping docks using a forklift.
- Assist with packaging materials for shipping per instructions or customer requirements, ensuring legible and accurate labels.
- Manually load coils and bundles onto trucks based on computer-generated work orders or verbal instructions.
- Monitoring Logistics Quality:
- Facility and Equipment Care: Maintain facility and equipment checklists; perform 6S functions and forklift inspections before operating equipment.
- Proactive Damage Control: Identify and communicate potential problems to supervisors to prevent future issues.
- Pallet Quality: Ensure pallets are stable, accurately labeled, damage-free, and transported safely.
- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory levels; resolve discrepancies and take action to eliminate errors.
- Focus on individual quality improvement to ensure orders are correct, on time, and as requested by customers.
- Work with the leadership team to create personal improvement plans for process or quality issues.
- Contribute to process changes in response to customer errors.
- Correct and record technical errors from manufacturing and vendors.
- Support ISO9001 quality initiatives.
- Cleaning and Area Upkeep: Maintain a clean work environment; perform 6S activities (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain, and safety) to organize the distribution center.
- Other Duties:
- Answer questions and assist DC Team Member I as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May require up to 10% travel time.
Requirements

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and work experience.
- 6–17 months of related experience.
- Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred.
- Lean experience preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Pay
Base pay: $18.25 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including education, work experience, and geographic market.
This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, with potential awards based on company and individual performance.
