Responsibilities
- Operational leader of all inbound purchase order receipts, product quality, inventory reconciliation, and storage activities.
- Operational leader of all outbound picking, packing, accuracy, and shipping activities.
- Lead a small team including hiring, training, performance evaluations, delegating/directing work, and managing time and attendance.
- Drive and maintain a safe and clean working environment, upholding all required safety protocols for all distribution center employees.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive new initiatives, provide key KPI and metric performance updates, and enhance customer experience.
- Set operational expectations by implementing and maintaining labor performance and quality metrics, establishing clear roles and responsibilities, and holding individuals accountable to documented standards.
- Develop deep knowledge of all systems, controls, and tools used in the distribution center, including training and clarifying functionality.
- Drive results against budgeted performance and cost targets, forecast challenges, identify areas for improvement, and provide process improvement initiatives with full ROI justifications.
- Leverage data and trends to align staffing outcomes, optimize hours utilization, and identify root causes of operational impacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school preferred; 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education, leadership, and on-site experience.
- Extensive experience in an automated environment where WMS, systems controls, and automation are physically and systemically connected.
- Extensive labor management experience through an LMS or other tools that drive employee performance and quality standards.
- Highly experienced in driving warehouse safety, including power equipment standards, accident/injury documentation, and maintaining safe working habits.
- Proven expertise in developing salaried leaders, including coaching core leadership competencies, detailing performance appraisals, and developing roles and responsibilities.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, MS Word, and other similar PC-based tools.
- Comfortable using PC and tools remotely for problem-solving, root cause analysis, and systems testing/diagnosis.
- Proven capability to lead and manage multiple projects/tasks, prioritize, and delegate promptly.
- Ability to communicate professionally in person and electronically while upholding company values and leadership expectations.
