About the role
Winsupply is a group of over 680 locally-owned companies operating across industries such as HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical. The Operations Manager position focuses on the overall daily execution and tactical management of operations for the Atlanta Distribution Center (DC). This role bridges the gap between high-level strategy and daily inter-departmental execution, ensuring the facility remains legally compliant, fiscally responsible, and operationally elite.
Responsibilities
- Manage all departmental key performance indicators and operational functions (Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, Will-Call) to ensure consistent procedural implementation across the facility.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to enhance information flow and warehouse efficiency, aligning with distribution network standards.
- Execute quality control initiatives and audits to minimize order errors and product damages, ensuring high fulfillment accuracy.
- Oversee maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services for all Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Assist the Lead DC Manager in managing facility expenses and labor costs.
- Manage building maintenance and supplier contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing and service optimization.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA compliance and Building Safety SOPs across all departments.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff, focusing on effective delegation and coaching to build a high-performing distribution team.
- Execute fair and consistent employee accountability practices, including progressive discipline and performance improvement plans.
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture that promotes growth, resolves conflicts, and improves employee morale and retention.
- Provide transparent and persuasive communication regarding performance successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and leverage system analytics to make informed operational decisions.
- Articulate requirements for system improvements and mentor team members to elevate technical capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of warehouse management or supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WMS/TMS systems and proficiency in data analytics.
- MHE certification required.
Physical Demands
- Mobility: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, and kneel for the duration of an 8–10 hour shift.
- Strength: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Coordination: Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small parts or operate machinery.
- Environment: Capability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
