About the role

As a Maintenance Tech I, you will be responsible for all mechanical or functional issues with equipment affiliated with Rural King Distribution. You will apply a positive and enthusiastic approach to customer service while maintaining professionalism and a friendly demeanor. Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external customer support while assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.
• Actively participate in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire new knowledge and refine existing skills.
• Perform all preventive maintenance for equipment in the facility, including propane forklifts, electric forklifts, chargers, conveyors, and grounds.
• Maintain and repair all equipment or fixtures related to operational parts of Rural King Distribution while ensuring low cost and high reliability.
• Ensure compliance in all aspects of equipment and grounds relating to Rural King Distribution.
• Meet all quality and production goals daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment, keeping the work area clean and free of debris.
• Be flexible and work in multiple areas as needed based on business demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least one year of warehouse/manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
• One-year experience in general mechanical and maintenance needs relating to forklifts, racking, and grounds.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills, aligned with Rural King’s People Promise.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Proven track record of producing error-free work and meeting quality standards.
• Ability to adapt to new environments, responsibilities, and tasks.
• Willingness to take on new responsibilities and projects with a proactive approach to learning and growth.
• Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth, with a growth mindset.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to lift 65 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate all facilities.
• Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).
• Must be able to see at close and far distances.
• Must be able to lift, bend, carry, and push repetitively.
