DC Maintenance Specialist II
About the role
A mid-level maintenance position responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities in a distribution center environment.
Responsibilities
- Repair miscellaneous distribution center equipment, including forklifts, battery maintenance, power jacks, hand jacks, corporate vehicles, etc., and maintain a detailed history log.
- Perform electrical requirements such as data and voice cabling, and handle plumbing, carpentry, and fabrication duties as needed.
- Maintain distribution center conveyor systems by diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, performing routine preventative maintenance, and ensuring proper working conditions.
- General maintenance of the distribution center, office buildings, and grounds, including snow removal, spreading salt, mowing grounds, trimming trees, picking up trash, and assisting with moves.
- Perform preventive battery maintenance and provide detailed maintenance records for quarterly audits.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC units, including monthly filter maintenance on each unit.
- Provide after-hour assistance in the event of an emergency or inclement weather conditions, serving as a first responder to assess snow removal needs.
- Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar position.
- Strong electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and fabrication skills.
- Previous experience in electrical, welding, metal fabrication, and/or machine maintenance.
- Technical or vocational education.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
