Loading & Unloading
- Loading and unloading of trailers, including flatbeds.
- Maintain proper trailer weight distribution while maximizing trailer cubes/space.
- Perform piece counts to verify accuracy.
- Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
- Scan product and pallets to truck Id’s in an accurate manner.
- Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
- Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
- Absorb floor loaded shipments, both inbound and outbound.
- Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
- Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
- Cross check quantities to packing slip, making necessary notations when needed.
- Load merchandise onto proper pallet, shrink wrap when necessary.
- Properly secure shipments to prevent product and trailer damage.
- Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits with a safety-first mindset.
Mental & Physical Requirements
- Computer skills required.
- Forklift experience required.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Long periods of standing & sitting.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
Education, Training & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior Forklift experience required.
- 1 year prior shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Working Environment & Conditions
- Cold and warm dock conditions.
- Risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).
- CMP - Cumulative Trauma Disorder.
