DC Inventory Control Analyst I

About the Role

This position supports distribution center initiatives, partnering with Inventory Control and other teams to improve shrinkage, performance, and cost savings. You will drive, communicate, and execute million-dollar initiatives across Burlington Stores, ensuring SOX compliance and inventory accuracy. Responsibilities include research, root cause analysis, financial inventory adjustments, and collaboration with Supply Chain teams such as Finance, Buyers, Allocations, Planning, Transportation, and DC Operations.

You must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to travel to multiple facilities across shifts as needed. Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop thorough knowledge of internal and external operational SOPs and best practices.
  • Ensure operational teams accurately follow SOPs.
  • Perform audits, document investigation methods, and conduct root cause analysis for inventory issues.
  • Communicate recommendations and escalate urgent items to appropriate management levels.
  • Collaborate with IT, DC Operations, Finance, and other teams for research and problem-solving.
  • Analyze and report systemic and operational issues to prevent asset loss.
  • Lead projects related to inventory movement and cost savings initiatives.
  • Monitor key inventory transaction functions and reports consistently and accurately.
  • Cross-train on operational procedures.
  • Interact confidently with all levels of management.
  • Complete timely inventory adjustments as directed.
  • Audit and conduct research to identify receiving errors and reduce shrink.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience as an Analyst, Inspector, Inventory Control, or related role in a distribution center or retail environment (preferred).
  • 1+ year of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and sortation systems (e.g., Dematic) (preferred).
  • Experience in a high-volume distribution environment (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent math and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site and remotely.
  • Ability to travel to all Distribution Centers and Warehouses.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for long periods during research.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Exposure to dust, high noise levels, and moving machinery.
  • Ability to respond to time-critical issues.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree preferred.

Certification on DC equipment may be required.

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000 (Min-Mid). Individual pay decisions are based on qualifications, education, job-related skills, relevant experience, and geographic location.

Schedule

Full-time, salaried position. On-site/In-office with potential for remote work.
