Responsibilities

• Classroom Management
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Prepare instructional materials and collect necessary materials for the teacher.
• Arrange the learning environment, including assembling and updating bulletin boards.
• Assemble, adjust, and maintain instructional equipment.
• Operate multimedia equipment, including setting up and returning materials to storage.
• Administer and score appropriate assessments, as directed by program regulations.
• Supervise learners during non-instructional times, such as lunch periods and transitions between activities.
• Delivery of Instructional Material
• Work with individual learners or small groups on assigned activities.
• Deliver instructional materials in the absence of the teacher.
• Communicate accurate knowledge of subject matter in a clear and appropriate manner.
• Communication
• Establish and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with other employees.
• Aid the teacher in establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with learners and their parents.
• Professional Responsibilities
• Complete record-keeping tasks, such as lunch reports, attendance, grading, and report cards.
• Aid the teacher in taking necessary precautions to protect learners, materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Aid the teacher in ensuring each learner has the necessary records in their permanent record or portfolio.
• Perform other responsibilities as directed.

Requirements

• Fingerprinting and background screening by the Clearinghouse.
• High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, 60 hours of college/university level coursework, 3 years of instructional assistant experience, or demonstrated proficiency on district assessment.

Salary

Starting Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
