Your daily impact

As our next Shop Helper, you'll play an important role in supporting our fleet maintenance team by assisting with oil changes, tire service, equipment inspections, and general shop operations. Working alongside experienced diesel mechanics, you'll help prepare and maintain our street sweepers and support equipment, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and ready to serve the communities that depend on them.

Job responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and observe all precautions while performing tasks to ensure a safe work environment.
• Complete all assigned parts processing, pick-ups, and deliveries efficiently and accurately.
• Operate vehicles and basic equipment safely to support parts transport and inventory tasks.
• Identify, pick, and handle parts correctly, ensuring proper storage and organization.
• Immediately report any equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, or injuries.
• Immediately escalate opportunities, work issues, or safety concerns to management.
• Cook with colleagues, coordinate with technicians, team leads, and other departments to support workflow and address urgent needs.
• Maintain clean driving records, follow company policies, and ensure all required documentation is accurate.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, shifting priorities, and unforeseen challenges in deliveries and inventory.

Minimum Job Requirements

• License: Driver’s License
• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age
• Compliance: Must maintain an acceptable driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, background check, DOT physical, and drug screening in accordance with Company policy and applicable law.

• Safety & Compliance: Consistently follow safety procedures, conduct required inspections, operate equipment responsibly, and comply with all traffic, site, and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Execution & Reliability: Plan and execute work efficiently and accurately, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain regular, dependable attendance.
• Communication & Accountability: Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and team members, represent the Company appropriately, and promptly report equipment issues, incidents, or safety concerns.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting and walking/standing
• Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling
• Limited stair climbing and crawling
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs at varying heights, including overhead
