Day Shift - Industrial Electrical Technician/Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the role

Haynes Wire facility is located at 158 N. Egerton Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Haynes Wire is a smaller manufacturer within the larger Haynes International company, which is headquartered in Kokomo, Indiana. Haynes International is a leading producer of high-quality stainless, nickel, and cobalt superalloy welding wire.

Responsibilities

• Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Perform modifications, upgrades, and new equipment/machinery installations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects for the department and site.
• Locate sources of mechanical and electrical problems by observing, listening, and using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
• Determine changes in the dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used components and employing rules, calipers, micrometers, and various measuring instruments.
• Ability to fabricate and repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Diagnose problems, disassemble components, determine the extent of necessary repairs, then repair, refit, or replace worn or damaged parts.
• Dismantle, move, and reassemble special-purpose machines and equipment, requiring utmost care and accuracy in reassembly, alignment, and balance.
• Prepare machine foundations.
• Lay and anchor machines and/or equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Positive, cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Thorough knowledge of hand tools, lifts, and electrical equipment.
• Working knowledge of photo eyes/sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, and temperature controllers.

Qualifications

• Preferred – Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Electronics, or related field.
• Required - High School Diploma.
• Candidates must have industrial/electrical skills; electrical certifications/degrees are preferred.
• Candidates with proven relevant electronic/electrical work experience in a suitable manufacturing environment will also be considered.

Skills

• MUST HAVE relevant Industrial DC troubleshooting & repair experience (DC Drives / DC Motors / DC Circuitry)
• Ability to follow directions, read blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of transformers, motors, generators, drive equipment, and all phases of industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of maintenance/millwright and electrical skills.
• High level knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, machining, and other trade skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair sensors, DC motors, drives, relays and similar industrial equipment.

$35.00 to $40.00 per hour.
