Day Service Specialist

About the Role

Our non-profit organization is seeking a hard-working, self-motivated, and positive candidate for an open Day Service Specialist position. This full-time role involves working with the Day Service Team to implement social and recreational activities, contribute ideas for program development, and support members in achieving their personal rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Day Service Team with scheduled activities and outings.
• Ensure member care and safety in the building and during outings.
• Work with Program Members to improve socialization, task completion, community integration, computer skills, financial literacy, household education, and more.
• Lead and participate in activities such as cooking/baking classes, games, art and craft activities, wildlife education programs, and other social and recreational events.
• Work 1:1 and in small and large groups, demonstrating strong presentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma/equivalency; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of local community resources.
• Experience in a day program setting and activities is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Past or current PCA/HHA or CNA certification is a plus.
