DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Safety: Closely supervise consumers in the community who do not have traffic safety skills, conduct fire drills, replace smoke detector batteries, ensure seatbelts are worn in vehicles, report problems or potential problems, report any suspicions of abuse, utilize universal precautions.
  • Meet the Consumers’ Needs: Provide hands-on assistance, transport consumers on outings, assist individuals who are physically unable to self-feed in eating, teach skills, assist individuals to become involved members of their community, implement and provide information on intervention plans, assist in transferring individuals in wheelchairs to other locations, assist in toileting needs.
  • Communicate with Others: Interact positively and professionally with consumers, interact respectfully with families and other staff, accept instructions from your supervisor, keep your supervisor informed of important information, participate in goal development, document charts and books accurately, assure that incidents are reported to the point person in a timely fashion and in accordance with State Regulations, complete time sheets accurately and submit them to the Day Program Supervisor in a timely manner, complete all required paperwork correctly and timely, report medication errors to your supervisor, request permission to miss work for vacation or illness from your supervisor, file documents in consumer files.
  • Implement All Regulatory Requirements: Provide service in a manner consistent with regulations and report areas where corrections are needed.
  • Implement Services In a Manner Consistent With Bell’s Philosophies: Provide services in a manner that is consistent with Bell’s and the Intellectual Disability Department’s policies, procedures, and ideologies.

  • Request changes in schedule in advance and give at least two (2) hours’ notice of illness.
  • Maintain the facility for neatness and cleanliness.
  • Show initiative by looking for tasks.
  • Provide a variety of experiences to consumers, based on consumers’ interests.
  • Support consumers in exercising their rights.
  • Support consumers’ choices and preferences.
  • Interact as part of the Multidisciplinary Team.

Pay

16.75-16.75 Hourly Wage
