About the role
The Day Program Aide is responsible for assisting special needs adults with activities such as basic life skills, community participation, transportation, vocational skills, crafts, and fun activities. Staff observe and report on the accomplishments of the adult participants while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Schedule
- Part-time
- Monday through Friday
- No evenings, weekends, or holidays
Responsibilities
- Assist special needs adults with basic life skills, community participation, transportation, vocational skills, crafts, and fun activities
- Observe and report on the accomplishments of program participants
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current driver’s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
- Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) – provided by Lifesteps
- First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months – provided by Lifesteps
Qualifications
Preferred:
- One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field (e.g., direct care, home health aide, personal care attendant, TSS)
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Recreational Therapy, Health Education, Nutrition, or a related field
