Day Program Aide
About the role
The Disability Services Day Program Aide assists special needs adults with activities such as basic life skills, community participation, transportation, vocational skills, crafts, and fun activities. Responsibilities include observing and reporting on participant accomplishments, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing support.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current driver’s license with the ability to travel using an Agency vehicle
- Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps
- First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps
- One year experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field, such as direct care, home health aide, personal care attendant, TSS, etc. (Preferred)
- Absorbed Associates or bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Recreational Therapy, Health Education, Nutrition, or any other major (Preferred)
