About the role

As a Part-Time Day Program Aide, you will assist adults with disabilities in an Adult Training Facility. Your role includes supporting participants with vocation training, basic work skills, hygiene, money management, community participation, crafts, and other life skills. You will observe and report on participant accomplishments while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Additionally, you will transport participants in an Agency vehicle for community learning, engagement, and fun activities.

Schedule

This part-time position follows a schedule of 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist adults with disabilities in activities such as vocation training, basic work skills, hygiene, and money management.
  • Support community participation, crafts, and other life skills activities.
  • Observe and report on participant accomplishments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the facility.
  • Transport participants in an Agency vehicle for community-based learning and engagement activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current driver’s license with the ability to travel using an Agency vehicle.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) — provided by Lifesteps.
  • First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six months — provided by Lifesteps.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 200 pounds with assistance.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field (e.g., direct care aide, home health aide, personal care assistant, direct support professional, medical assistant).
  • Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Certificate.
  • Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or a related field.
