About the Role

As a Day Camp Counselor at Y camp, you will supervise and ensure the safety of a group of campers. You will assist with the planning and implementation of activities that meet Y camp curriculum expectations. Your enthusiasm will be leveraged to supervise, participate with, and engage campers to create a high-quality, fun camper experience.

Requirements

• An interest in the well-being of camp-age children
• Enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment, and a good spirit
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
• At least 1 season of prior camp experience

Qualifications

• Committed to the Y's mission of fostering a positive work environment and empowering individuals and strengthening communities
• Agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth, which emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection
• Must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth
