Essential Responsibilities
- Guide group or individuals in activity plans.
- Implement program plans as assigned by the director / assistant director.
- Participate and take a leadership role in all planned activities.
- Help with the maintenance of all areas used by the day camp.
- Conform to the weekly schedule and attend all staff meetings.
- Responsible for the care and well-being of program participants, including implementing emergency procedures.
- Identify and meet individual camper needs.
- Monitor campers during both large and small group activities.
- Work with the appropriate staff in solving problems between campers.
- Inform the Summer Day Camp Director of any staff or camper problems.
- Work with Day Camp Director/Assistant Director to plan and execute daily.
- Recognize and provide opportunities for group interaction, problem solving, and decision making.
- Complete all paperwork and administrative duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education/Experience: High School diploma / GED preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Previous experience working with youth.
- Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Some knowledge or training and education in food handling and food service operations; Basic knowledge of computer systems; Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (preferred).
- Certificates And Licenses: Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed; Current First Aid / CPR certification, or ability to be certified within 30 days.
