Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare for daily lessons and help plan physical activities.
- Lead and participate in all facets of the program: recreation, snack, craft, pool, fieldtrips, etc.
- Prepare snacks.
- Provide Christian devotions.
- Enforce and adhere to the facility policies of no swearing, no alcoholic drinking, no drug use and no violence.
- Check out and check in equipment, putting items away in the proper place.
- Monitor computer usage.
- Document and report accidents.
- Perform open and closing procedures including opening and locking doors, turning on and off lights and equipment, getting out and putting away equipment.
- Help transport children to and from field trips.
- Driving is an essential aspect of this position.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
- The ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
- Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
- Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications
- Must pass all applicable background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
- Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
- Must be able to drive a 12-passenger van.
- Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR and First Aid certification. Safe Kids Nebraska Childcare Transportation Training.
Physical Requirements
- Employee may be occasionally required to engage in rigorous activities involved with participating in recreational activities with children.
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and run.
- Must be able to life a child up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
Must be able to keep up with children who are full of energy. Must be able to frequently be in the sun and outside in varying weather conditions. Noise level is moderate to loud. All employees recognize that The Salvation Army is a church and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission.
