About the role

Weber State University seeks a Housing Maintenance person who will specialize in one of the five areas: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, or Carpentry. The position can be filled at any level of the appropriate career ladder based on candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in their specialized area, and may also be required to work in other areas. Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the area of specialization.

Requirements

  • HVAC I (N24): High School diploma
  • HVAC II (N25): High School diploma, 3 years full-time HVAC experience
  • HVAC III (N26): High School diploma, 6 years full-time HVAC experience, ability to pump down and charge a refrigeration system, including replacement of a refrigerant compressor
  • Plumber I (N24): High School diploma, enrollment in State Plumbing Apprenticeship Program
  • Plumber II (N25): High School diploma, meet state requirement for level 2 apprentice in State Plumbing Apprenticeship Program
  • Plumber III (N26): High School diploma, Journeyman plumber’s license
  • Electrician I (N24): High School diploma, enrollment in State structural, electrical, Apprenticeship Program
  • Electrician II (N25): High School diploma, meet state requirement for level 2 apprentice in State structural, electrical, Apprenticeship Program
  • Electrician III (N26): High School diploma, Journeyman structural, electrical, license
  • Painter I (N23): High School diploma
  • Painter II (N24): High School diploma, 3 years experience, ability to perform specific tasks (e.g. job planning, materials, hand and power tool operation)
  • Painter III (N25): High School diploma, 6 years experience, ability to perform advanced tasks (e.g. match colors and tints, graphics, wall coverings)
  • Carpenter I (N23): High School diploma
  • Carpenter II (N24): High School diploma, 3 years experience, ability to perform specific tasks (e.g. job planning, materials, hand and power tool operation)
  • Carpenter III (N25): High School diploma, 6 years experience, ability to perform advanced tasks (e.g. door maintenance, ceiling layout, basic envelope repair)

Qualifications

A successful candidate will be willing to undergo a background check.

Pay

The annual salary for this position starts at $33,000 and may increase depending on candidate qualifications.
