About the role
The Database Administrator will utilize large datasets and provide reports on a wide range of subjects. They will create data dashboards, reports, and visualizations for the management team.
Responsibilities
- Build business and real-time systems using JavaScript, CSS, PL/SQL, and other languages in an iterative development environment.
- Analyze the needs and the environment to ensure the solution considers the current architecture and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements.
- Capture both configuration and customization requirements and document them for Product Management and Product Development teams.
- Manage client expectations, educate them regarding the system, and guide them into a solution that meets their needs while adhering to products’ standard functionality.
- Define and document customer business functions and processes; consult with all levels of the client to discern and document business needs, objectives, operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
- Act as liaison amongst end-users, project managers, sponsors, developers, and product managers in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, acceptance, adoption, and maintenance of software.
- Analyze the feasibility of and develop requirements for system enhancements; ensure designs fit user needs.
- Track and fully document changes to functional and business specifications; write detailed universally understood procedures for records and training.
- Identify opportunities for improving business processes through software and services.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals for new and existing clients.
- Read and interpret requirements and functional technical literature; translate into terms understandable to end-users.
- Work with clients to plan, organize, and conduct business process reengineering and change management projects.
- Research and prepare statistical reports using system data to help clients understand system benefits.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
- Provide technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching of professional and technical staff.
- Help develop or revise training curriculum and conduct formal training sessions.
- Provide support to the help desk, guiding clients to resolve issues.
- Provide direction to technical staff and act as a team lead.
- Gather complex data inputs from multiple sources, both internally and externally.
- Run data queries from reporting tools (Oracle APEX and Cognos), ensuring integrity of data and reporting.
- Proactively find ways to streamline and automate reporting and daily activities.
- Perform special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems to ensure availability of supporting data.
- Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders.
- Work effectively with cross-functional business partners including Accounting, Human Resources, Proposals, IT, and Marketing.
- Ensure selected security controls are implemented and operating as intended during all phases of the IS lifecycle.
- Ensure system security documentation is developed, maintained, reviewed, and updated continuously.
- Conduct required IS vulnerability scans according to risk assessment parameters.
- Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) in response to reported security vulnerabilities.
- Review O365 and Azure Secure Scores; remediate vulnerabilities as necessary.
- Responsible for security-related helpdesk tickets and ensure all security issues are properly logged.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred or one year of related experience and/or training.
- Related Oracle experience helpful.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Innately curious with a strong ability to think creatively and develop new solutions.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Resourceful and motivated with an ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Skills
- Knowledge of database languages with solid SQL querying skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; proficiency in MS Excel is required.

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
