Database Administrator (DBA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database architecture, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
• Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of high availability, replication, clustering, and failover.
• Experience managing database security, users, roles, and permissions.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments.
• Experience supporting production databases and resolving critical issues.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor database environments.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Manage backups, restores, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor database health, availability, storage, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity issues.
• Implement database security, access controls, and best practices.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
• Support high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams.
• Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP databases.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud migration and database modernization.
• Relevant database certifications are a plus.
