Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, optimize, and support production database environments across multiple platforms
- Analyze existing application and database architectures
- Contribute to technical strategy and decisions around data models and database design
- Ensure databases are appropriately resourced for performance, scalability, and resilience
- Implement and maintain monitoring to minimize downtime and improve observability
- Perform routine operational tasks such as installations, upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery testing
- Troubleshoot live production issues through to resolution, including post-mortems and root-cause analysis
- Participate in discussions, prototyping, testing, and support of next-generation database solutions
Must-Have Technical Requirements
- Hands-on, production experience with PostgreSQL
- Hands-on, production experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Hands-on, production experience with MongoDB
- Hands-on, production experience with ClickHouse
- Strong expertise in ANSI SQL (DDL, DML, normalization, transactions)
- Deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
- Experience with profilers, query analyzers, and execution plans
- Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts, schema design, and partitioning
- Understanding of database security, access control, and auditing
