We're seeking a Power BI Engineer who excels at transforming complex data into actionable business insights. You will serve as the bridge between technical data teams and business leaders, ensuring that data is not only accessible but also understandable, impactful, and widely adopted.

Responsibilities

• Power BI Development & Visualization Design, develop, and maintain scalable Power BI dashboards and reports
• Create intuitive visualizations that simplify complex business data
• Deliver reporting solutions that support both operational and executive-level decision-making
• Build and manage data models, measures, and KPIs using Power BI and DAX
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to understand reporting requirements
• Translate business needs into scalable and effective dashboard solutions
• Lead discussions around metrics, reporting strategies, and data-driven decision-making
• Act as a trusted advisor for analytics and reporting initiatives
• Reporting & Analytics
• Develop enterprise reporting layers and standardized dashboards
• Work with large, complex, multi-source datasets
• Create meaningful KPIs and performance metrics that align with business objectives
• Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from leadership teams
• Optimization & Best Practices
• Optimize Power BI performance through effective data modeling and DAX development
• Improve dashboard usability, adoption, and scalability
• Implement best practices around dashboard design, governance, and reporting consistency
• Support ongoing enhancements to analytics capabilities across the organization

What We're Looking For

Vaco is actively searching for a Data Visualization Engineer with PowerBI to sit on-site in Charlotte, NC. This is a full time placement so candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis (NO sponsorship or 3rd party vendors- no C2C). Local Charlotte, NC candidates will be highly preferred as this role is hybrid on-site.

Required skills

• 5+ years experience in an enterprise environment working with PowerBI, data visualization, BI engineering
• Experience working with modern data platforms (specifically databricks)
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and medallion architecture
• Experience working with ERP systems (manufacturing or supply chain industry)
• Experience designing and building scalable PowerBI dashboards and reports
