Data Technician

About the role

The Neuroimaging Data Technician supports data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage and clean data
• Query databases to create reports and ensure data accuracy
• Export/import data between different sources
• Write and edit code to organize data for analyses
• Assist with basic statistical analyses using R and other tools
• Check incoming neuroimaging data for completeness and accuracy
• Process data with available scripts
• Communicate with other researchers to obtain missing information
• Write technical and user documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
• 0 to 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in biomedical or psychological research or data management preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Python preferred
• Some experience with Linux/Unix/Bash scripting useful
• Extensive knowledge of tools useful in manipulating and converting data
• Facility with numbers and meticulous attention to detail
• Experience with statistics and statistical programming (R preferred)
• Programming experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages preferred
• Capacity for learning new technical skills independently
• Experience with neuroimaging tools (FSL, SPM, AFNI, ANTs) preferred

Skills

• Neuroimaging methods and hypothesis described by various funded imaging grants in the Lab

Pay

$26.66 - $28.48 hourly rate, salary offers are based on qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they relate to the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
