About the role
The Data Scientist Supervisor position at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is responsible for leading statewide reporting and analytics efforts. Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding statewide reporting and analytics efforts that support stronger decision making, improved program performance, and meaningful outcomes for the people we serve.
- Leading a team responsible for developing accessible and accurate insights using tools like Tableau, Salesforce, Power BI, and advanced programming languages (Python, R, SQL).
- Monitoring financial and operational priorities, ensuring compliance with federal and state reporting requirements, and adhering to OOD's data governance and quality standards.
- Transforming complex information into clear recommendations that strengthen program effectiveness, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Coordinating agency-wide reporting efforts, collaborating with internal leaders to identify analytic needs, interviewing stakeholders to inform reporting structures, and managing enhancements to employer-related databases such as AWARE, Tableau, and Salesforce.
- Directing employer-related reporting activities, creating Lean Six Sigma performance summaries, leading the Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment, and preparing various reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist Supervisor will:

- Prepare various reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Requirements
- 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
- Completion of an associate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field.
- 48 months experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
- Completion of a graduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field.
- Equivalent of education and/or experience per Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.
Qualifications

Pay
The starting salary is step 1, subject to law or union contract requirements. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. There are cost of living increases to these rates each year and additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.

The role is full-time with a schedule of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Location Requirements
The role is primarily in-office to encourage collaboration and connection, but some locations may have adjusted on-site requirements based on space availability at this time. Employees must reside at a location that allows for reasonable response time to workplace reporting requirements. Daytime travel within Ohio is required.
