Duties

  • Extract and transform data from various sources and technologies using complex SQL queries.
  • Gather, document, and clarify reporting requirements from business partners.
  • Create, enhance, update, and test reports and stored procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production reporting issues.
  • Recognize and communicate meaningful trends/patterns in data and reporting.
  • ID and validate data sources and serve as a data expert.
  • Advise business and technology partners on data-driven opportunities to increase efficiency and improve customer experience.
  • Proactively interface with, and gather information from, other areas of the business including Operations, Technology, Finance, and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Risk Management, Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Strategic Analyst, or related occupation.
  • The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Strategic Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills

  • This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following:
  • managing digital queues, pricing, and life process of a mortgage;
  • performing data manipulation and query optimization on millions to tens of millions data sets using SQL in either Microsoft SQL server or Alteryx Designer;
  • creating visualizations using Excel, Python, or Tableau to communicate findings and insights to senior management;
  • working on end to end projects to develop Tableau dashboards to gather business requirements, providing SQL code to software developers building mock-ups in Tableau or Excel;
  • using Python to build out statistical analysis including linear or logistic regression and finding outliers;
  • utilizing mortgage products, including fixed-rate and adjustable-rate mortgages, government-backed (FHA, VA) and Jumbo loans;
  • performing mortgage process, including right party contact, credit pull, application submission, rate lock, to determine the impact of these stages on sales outcomes;
  • differentiating between leads originating from digital channels, branch locations, and Home Lending Advisor (HLA) self-sourced efforts to identify and analyze trends across these lead sources;
  • utilizing centralized call center operations and branch-based models to determine the impact on business processes and customer experience.
