About the role
The Data Scientist-Mid will support Defense & Intelligence Programs at Special Operations Command-Central (SOCCENT) located at MacDill AFB, FL in the Intelligence Data Science Team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects.
- Develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
- Utilize advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experience, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- May develop processes and machine learning-based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- May coach and review the work of less experienced professionals.
- Works independently under general supervision.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
- Basic understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
- Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance required.
- 5-8 years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- On-site 5 days a week at MacDill AFB, FL.
- Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $116,875 - $158,125.
