Data Scientist I
About the role

Responsibilities
- Develop data models, reports, and visualizations aligned with the approved business requirements.
- Collect, preprocess, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
- Build models to enhance State and Agency capabilities.
- Present insights using data visualization techniques.
- Use various applications and cloud tools to build both classical and GenAI models and solutions.
- Develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
- Support State and Agency partners through clear, concise, and honest communication.
- Deliver data science services following state reference architecture and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least one year of data science work experience or equivalent education beyond a bachelor’s degree.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess proficiency in statistical and database programming languages.
- Knowledge of statistics, mathematical techniques, and machine learning methods.
- Strong communication and data visualization skills.
- Experience with data science tools and software engineering.
- Aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least one year of data science work experience or equivalent education beyond a bachelor’s degree. Preference will be given to candidates who possess proficiency in statistical and database programming languages, knowledge of statistics, mathematical techniques, and machine learning methods, strong communication and data visualization skills, experience with data science tools and software engineering, and aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving.
