About the role

The Data Scientist I with OMES enjoys generous leave including 15 days of vacation, 15 days of sick leave, and 11 paid holidays annually. A comprehensive benefit package includes a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data models, reports, and visualizations aligned with the approved business requirements.
  • Collect, preprocess, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
  • Build models to enhance State and Agency capabilities.
  • Present insights using data visualization techniques.
  • Use various applications and cloud tools to build both classical and GenAI models and solutions.
  • Develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
  • Support State and Agency partners through clear, concise, and honest communication.
  • Deliver data science services following state reference architecture and standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least one year of data science work experience or equivalent education beyond a bachelor’s degree.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess proficiency in statistical and database programming languages.
  • Knowledge of statistics, mathematical techniques, and machine learning methods.
  • Strong communication and data visualization skills.
  • Experience with data science tools and software engineering.
  • Aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Qualifications
